Meet Jake Heywood:

Your guide to confident, artful music-making.

 
Jake is a Utah-based voice teacher, music director, and performer with experience in a wide variety of genres. He intends to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Music from Weber State University in 2023, having spent nearly a decade studying Musical Theatre, Choral Music, Opera, and Commercial-style music in various vocal programs throughout the state.

While he specializes in Musical Theatre, his experience in many styles have led to a high level of versatility. His strengths as a voice teacher include helping his students build confidence, develop individual musicality, and experience vocal freedom. He is a highly-skilled pianist and voice pedagogue.

Jake loves working as a Music Director and Vocal Coach for local theatre companies. Some of his favorite shows he's music directed include The Secret Garden, Les Miserables, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Little Shop of Horrors. He has enjoyed music directing with Ogden Musical Theatre, North Ogden City, Weber State University, and Weber High School.

When Jake isn't teaching or directing, he loves to spend time onstage himself. Some of his favorite roles include Eddie Souther-Sister Act, Tony-West Side Story, Prince Eric-The Little Mermaid, and Charlie Brown-You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Jake enjoys spending time with his family, boyfriend, and cat. Talk to him about his favorite movies and you'll never hear the end of it!
